Where We Stand

Where We Stand

Where We Stand is a long-term concept project focused on giving people access to the world through immersive digital experiences, regardless of their location, finances, or ability to travel.

The core idea behind the project is simple:

From where we stand today, we can go anywhere.

Rather than creating a single massive virtual world requiring expensive hardware and high-speed internet, Where We Stand is designed as a library of places. Users would be able to choose locations from around the world — such as Scotland, Ancient Greece, France, or American states — and download individual experiences focused on those environments and time periods.

The project combines exploration, history, atmosphere, and education into accessible digital experiences that can evolve over time as technology improves. Each location acts as a modular package that can later be upgraded with higher-quality visuals, greater interactivity, and deeper immersion while still preserving accessibility for everyday users.

Where We Stand is not intended to be limited to gaming. The vision is broader than that. It is designed as a platform for discovery, learning, and human connection to places across time. Users may one day experience:

  • historical reconstructions
  • modern-day environments
  • possible future versions of locations
  • guided visual journeys through cultures and landscapes

A key principle of the project is inclusivity. The intention is to help people who:

  • cannot afford to travel
  • are physically unable to travel
  • or simply wish to experience the world in a different way

The concept recognises that current technology is still evolving. Instead of attempting to build an impossible full-scale virtual Earth immediately, the project focuses on scalable ideas that can grow naturally alongside future advances in hardware, graphics, internet infrastructure, and digital storytelling.

At its heart, Where We Stand is about making the world more accessible to everyone — not just those who can physically reach it.
